Hey beautiful women of today! How many of you are finding yourself less and less in control with how much time you have to prepare yourself for the day? Whether the blame is due to last minute studying, catching up with sleep or simply finding time to eat a decent meal in the morning, I am here to offer help. I, myself have always had issues with getting "ready" in the morning, so I can relate.
Now that we have coffee and energy drinks on every corner, it has been slightly easier to tackle our days. However, do we really want to contaminate our lovely bodies with caffeine and other horrible things we can barely pronounce? I hope you answered "no", and if so, here are a few tips to help you get through it all. I'm no doctor, but I can tell you what works for me.
1. First, I must give it up to GO LEAN (Kashi) Cereals. They are rich in fiber, which we all know plays a big role in your overall energy level. Replace your caffeine with fiber twigs found in Kashi Cereals and feel healthier and better about you.
Also, we know that eating breakfast in the morning not only ensures you better concentration but a healthier weight. Being pressed for time does not mean you have to live an almost unhealthy lifestyle. Make a few adjustments and you will see a major difference in yourself.
2. Don't drive. With all the traffic and gasoline issues lately it almost seems like common sense anyway. When you are on your way to work and the bus is late or you've overslept, jog to work. I highly recommend it, not only for health reasons, but think about it, jogging to work or school will probably get you there faster anyway. Would you rather allow breakfast to accumulate around your body while waiting for a bus that you know will show up fifteen minutes too late. Or jog, shed a few calories and/or pounds and keep your job because of it.
3. Getting up fifteen minutes earlier gives your brain more time to wake up and begin functioning. Suddenly, your daily tasks and routines do not seem so overwhelming. You ever just wake up and become instantly scattered about where your keys, homework, MAC card or any other regularly used items are? Sure you have. We all have. Just give your mind more time to process it all. You know what's in your wardrobe, correct? So think of what you'll wear for that day while lying in your bed in the morning. Making a mental "to do" list almost always proves as a helpful tool in getting prepared daily.
**Do not be afraid to pull your hair up in a conservative bun or ponytail. There is not always a need for hot irons, which are mostly bad anyway.
**The only necessary makeup for almost all women is mascara. Try just mascara and lip balm. You'll be surprised at how naturally beautiful you are. Save half an hour because of it.
**Use a moisturizing body wash. Applying lotion often takes more time than we would like it to. Wouldn’t it be easier if we only had to moisturize our faces? I recommend the lesser expensive brands such as Suave and Soft Soap.
Surprisingly, plenty of dollar store body washes work well with ethnic skin types and are really good bargain buys.
****Sleep well. It is all right to let your boyfriend know that you still love him, but have to get back to him tomorrow. Be your own priority.***
I have been wearing my hair naturally all of my life.(never mind my age) until recently. For my spring vacation I decided to change my overall appearance. I got my first weave yall! I allowed my friend to apply a relaxer and a few tracks to my scalp. She’s really talented and always wears a weave herself, so there was no reason to worry. Or so I thought. The following week my tracks became loose and I decided it was time to remove them. I was told that hair bond remover was all I needed and that I would walk away with the same amount of hair that I started with. I’m not sure if I was lied to or if I myself made a mistake somewhere down the line. I followed the instructions perfectly and carefully, but I still lost a lot of hair while washing. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I freaked out! What happened? Why did I lose so much hair? I know lots of people who always wear weaves with glue and they don’t have any hair loss issues. Are weaves made for particular people? Anyway, my weave was beautiful so yes I would like to try it again; just professionally this time. I’m not mad at my girl but I want to make sure that it wasn’t something she did. Will a sewn in weave have the same effect? Can anyone give me any advice to regrow my hair?![]()
