So I’m walking downtown last week, arms full of packages (that I know I can’t afford.) I’m on my way to parking garage when disaster strikes. My purse slides down my arm and upsets the whole tower of terror! There I am surrounded by hair products, shoe boxes, lace teddies, and anything else you can imagine. At that moment the strangest thing happened. An angelic gentleman stooped down to help retrieve my belongings. This guy actually hangs up his phone conversation! Not only does he pick my things up, but he returns them to my bag!…neatly! he then proceeds to walk me to my car holding all of my bags. Now at this point I’m a little bit nervous because ya know – parking garage, kind stranger. Makes for a horror flick, right? So I’m being cautious but at the same time I’m still mystified by what was happening. When was the last time a man really offered his help, unless he wanted something in return? Lo and behold Vince( as I found his name to be) put my parcels in my trunk, bid me good bye, and hurried along his way. I was in shock! Without so much as a request for a phone number or an offer to dinner. In this time of bad pick up lines, and rude ghetto guys this was just a breath of fresh air. So ladies, I ask you really: who said chivalry is dead?![]()
