Can Humans Live Forever?

03/11/09 | by Ethnic Embrace [mail] | Categories: Health, Health

With medical breakthroughs and with greater understanding of humans, health and disease it is no surprise that we are coming closer and closer to finding ways to live longer. An average man in the 1800’s was expected to live to 35 years. In 1900, this same man would live to be 47. By 1950, average life expectancy was up to 68 years, and now it’s 78 (CBS NEWS). We are living linger than ever and doctors and scientist see no reasons to stop here. Some experts even go as far as saying those under 40 can expect to live for centuries.

I recently changed my diet completely; eating only fish and chicken, no sweets, wheat everything, fresh vegetable and some fruits. Having given up red meat and pork, butter and salt, I wondered how this would affect my health and overall longevity. I came across a very interesting site. According to Dr. Thomas Perls, I can expect to live to 94 and even increase that by about 10 years if I decrease my alcohol consumption, double my exercise, floss daily and do a few other things.

This field is going to become very interesting to keep up with and I intend to. Now, I am not agreeing with experts that trying to live forever is ethical because it would be very unfair and very problematic giver our current climate crisis, over population crisis, etc., but WOW!

DONATE!
