Joe Paterno has passed away at the age of 85. He was known for winning more Division I NCAA football games than any other coach. He had 46 years of head coach experience under his belt. On November 18 reports made public his diagnosis with lung cancer and this past Saturday, at State College Hopsital, he had taken a turn for the worst and passed away.

"Joe Paterno symbolized a legacy. One of hope and strength. Even at his old age he carried the torch and carried the Nittany Lions into success and fame!"

11th Most Wanted Mexican Dies in Battle

11/07/10 | by Ethnic Embrace [mail] | Categories: Politics, International, Top Stories

Drug lord Antonio Ezequiel Cardenas Guillen of the Gulf Cartel (aka Tony Tormenta/Tony the Storm), was killed Nov. 5, 2010 with three of his workers in a battle with the Mexican military in Tamaulipas state just across the border from Brownsville, Texas.

US authorities had offered a $5m reward for information leading to his arrest after receiving a drug trafficking charge. He was the US's 11th most wanted Mexican fugitive. His brother Osiel Guillen just received 25 years in a US, Texas prison facility. The Gulf Cartel was Mexico's second most powerful cartel and they even had around $2.5m (USD) reward towards the arrest of Tony Tormenta.

What does this mean for the US and Mexico?

Obama Dismisses Ideas Of Adopting New Reserve Currency

03/25/09 | by Ethnic Embrace [mail] | Categories: International, Top Stories, Finance

Yes, there has been much talk about another currency replacing the worlds main reserve currency and if you did not know that would be the USD. We recently published an article that mentioned all this.

Of course, this topic is not a new topic and there have been talks like this before. However, given the global economy and what little faith and trust many have in our re-establishing our status this is a very "big deal" and something we all need to keep on our radars.

Could you imagine what life would be like if China or Japan were to adopt another currency? Ultimately, this would decrease the worth of the US dollar dramatically. In fact a few countries have already made moves to decrease their dependency on our dollar. It all seems absurd  to think countries would (and moreover could) do this and the idea has been dismissed by Obama but just what if?
